Implant Device
Hallux Limitus Correction System
Hallux limitus correction system is an implant device used to treat hallux rigidus or hallux limitus, a condition that affects the big toe joint, causing pain, stiffness, and limited range of motion. The implant is designed to replace the damaged joint surface of the big toe with a smooth, low-friction surface that allows for pain-free movement.
The device is made up of two parts, a titanium alloy stem that is inserted into the first metatarsal bone and a silicon ball that sits on top of the stem, replacing the damaged joint surface. The implant provides stability and helps to maintain the correct alignment of the big toe joint, reducing pain and improving function. The procedure is minimally invasive and typically performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia.
